In the morning, the STEM team headed by Dr. Wang Ruiyun, the Chairman of STEM Educational Foundation(hereinafter referred to as”STEM”) and Mr. Harrison Xia, the Secretary -General, visited the 69th United Nations President office. The President of General Assembly of the United Nations, Mr.Sam Kutesa, and the office director received STEM team. Both parties discussed about the global promotion of STEM distance satellite real-time education network program. The General Assembly of the United Nations highly approved STEM program and would support with great effort.
STEM education program is planning to use the satellite network to deliver knowledge to the billions of unattended children, helping them change their fate and eliminate poverty. The President of United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Sam Kutesa, was quite moved and glad that STEM has the ability and technology to solve the fundamental education issue for the unattended children. Born in Africa, Mr. Sam Kutesa had a deep feeling about the poor education problem faced in his country. He said he would support STEM education program to become globalization with all his effort. And hopefully STEM program could be promoted as the sustainable program of UN in the following 15 years, together with UN’s effort.
Mr. Sam Kutesa, served as the Attorney General of Uganda from 1985 to 1986, as Uganda Minister of plans and economic development from 1996 to 2000, as Uganda Minister of Investment Affairs from 2001 to 2005, as Uganda's Minister of foreign Affairs since January 2005 to present. And elected as the President of the 69thGeneral Assembly of the United Nations taking over Dr.John Ashe, who comes from Antigua and Barbuda. He assumed his post in September. Mr. Kutesa ever attended the third ministerial conference of Beijing summit of China Africa Cooperation Forum in November 2006 and was invited to visit China in March 2014 and October 2010.
