On Jul 30 , 2015, The 69th session of United Nations General Assembly president Mr. Sam Kutesa was invited by the China government to come and visit China. Mr. Sam Kutesa addressed respectively with the China Vice President Mr. Lee Yuanchao and the China State Councilor Mr. Yang Jiechi during the friendly meeting and had an in-depth discussion about the multiterm cooperative affairs between China and the United Nations.
On Aug 2, 2015, the 69th session of United Nations General Assembly president Mr. Sam Kutesa met China STEM team in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Mr. Sam Kutesa again had a friendly meeting with STEM Education Foundation Chairman Dr. Ruiyun Wang, and STEM Education Foundation Secretary Mr. Harrision Xia. Dr. Ruiyun Wang reported to Mr. Sam Kutesa with the current development and situation of STEM in China and how to use the modern satellite communication technology to promote STEM globally, in particularly, the strategic conception of development in Africa. Mr. Harrison introduced, in detail, the enormous application functions of China STEM satellite distance education network system as well as the current project progress in China to Mr. Sam Kutesa and his wife and also Mr. Harrison Xia made a report on how to help and construct the STEM satellite distance education network in Uganda and Africa. Both had a deep discussion on using the modern satellite communication technology to help and resolve the education and communication problem and internet access in the poor rural area in Africa, and the United Nations Smart African Project. Mr. Sam Kutesa highly appreciated the China STEM team and both reach to a consensus on using the China satellite distance education network’s successful case to develop STEM globally in Africa. President Kutesa is very much willing to fully support the development of STEM satellite distance real-time education network system in Africa. Whilst, both had an agreement to confirm Mr. Kutesa’s hometown, Uganda to be the first demo Country. Mr. Kutesa is on behalf of Uganda invited STEM team come to Africa to sign the strategy cooperative agreement with the Ministry of Education of Uganda and hold the opening ceremony of the first pilot school in late August and through the African Union Organization to develop STEM project in Africa. President Kutesa gave a high appraisal in STEM’s mission of “knowledge changes life, technology realizes dream”. Meanwhile, he pointed out his own opinion: “eliminate poverty, education is the greatest power”. He will fully support Global Sustainability Foundation and China STEM term, jointly expand STEM globally.
